| Tune in |
Yahoo Inc is aiming to strike a chord with its new way of presenting the news.
Instead of the usual anchor for its planned news video project, the web giant is considering employing a presenter with a good vocal range who will sing the news rather than reading it. The project will be appropriately entitled Odd News Underground.

An American life coach has developed a programme to help people who think they are addicted to email. Pennsylvania-based Marsha Egan has come up with a 12-step plan along similar lines to that used by alcoholics and drug abusers, aimed at teaching people how to stop email ruling their lives.
She advocates committing to keeping your inbox empty, establishing regular times to review your e-mail, dealing immediately with any email that can be handled in under two minutes and creating a file for mails that will take longer. |

| Wwwacky website |
We all have our indecisive days and sometimes the best way to make up your mind about what to do - or who should do it - is to flip a coin. But what if you plunge your hand into your pocket and all that comes out is a bunch of notes? You might consider yourself lucky to be in this position of wealth, but money can't buy you decisiveness.
Just click on the virtual Canadian dollar and it will randomly show you its heads or its tails, thus solving your problem. But whose turn is it to click the coin? You'll have to flip for it. |

Apparently, diamonds are a wheel's best friend - American firm Asanti thinks so anyway, which is why it is offering to custom-make these jewel-encrusted wheel rims.
Each three-piece wheel is hand crafted in sizes from 18 to 30 inches and set with 26,000 diamonds and 1,200 rubies. The rims can be painted, chromed or even layered with wood. The $2.5m price tag is a very good incentive to park carefully though. For more information visit www.ultimate-velocity.co.uk. |

Cool robot |
| |
The next generation of Antarctic explorers may be robots, if a project started by US scientists and engineers is successful.
They have designed and tested a solar-powered rover - called a Cool Robot - as a prototype for a new vehicle which could be sent to the Antarctic and spend months roaming the surface and collecting data. The robot weighs about 60kg and runs quietly on solar power with a top speed of about 3kph. It navigates with global-positioning satellite and can travel 500km in two weeks, with instruments packed into its cube body or towed on a sled behind. |

This ultra-sleek creature is Maserati's brand new two-door sports car, named the GranTurismo, which is set to arrive here early next year.
Styled by Italian design house Pininfarina, the GranTurismo has a distinctive long nose and curvaceous headlights, while under the bonnet is a Ferrari-built 4.2-litre V8 engine. The price tag is expected to be heftier than that of the GranTurismo, which currently costs from $248,500. |

Toyota Hybrid X Concept |
| |
Toyota, the world's biggest supplier of hybrid cars, took the covers off its brand new fuel-reducing concept model at the Geneva Motor Show.
The radically styled Hybrid X is crucial to Toyota's plan to sell more than a million fuel-saving petrol-electric vehicles every year for the next five years. Its Prius is already a favourite with environmentally friendly drivers, but the Hybrid X is not billed as its replacement. Instead, Toyota aims to launch the aerodynamically designed four-seater Hybrid X into the large wagon market, where it hopes the car will find a whole new audience. |
