Thank you for the 10 years ... here's to the next decade

10th year anniversary of aussiehome.com

Dec 6th 1999 - the aussiehome.com web site went live to the world ... 7 months since the idea first came to 2 MBA grads from UWA - for a map-based internet site showing properties for sale or rent.

It was the height of the dotcom craze; the new millenium approached; the new economy beckoned. Back then, zero property enquiries came from the web - today? estimates put it at more than 70%.

Large media companies know this and they also know that newspapers are dying worldwide. Perth is not isolated from this trend.

BUT - we shouldn't allow the large media companies to 'own the Internet' - the Internet allows us to release ourselves from this position and put the media power BACK into the hands of the common folk - you and me.

Putting the media power back into your hands - is the aussiehome.com mission - always has been, will always be.

We've all come a long way together - here's to another decade!

And thank you. For your support of WA's ONLY independently owned and operated real estate web site business.

Seven Simple Site Traffic Secrets

SEO success on Google is not hard

Need more traffic to your site? It's not that difficult, you just need to make sure:

1. Your TITLE TAG (what appears top uppermost above the tool boxes in your site) has KEY WORDS such as "real estate" "Property" "for sale" "rent" and a selection of your suburbs.

We use "aussiehome.com - Perth real estate guide for properties for sale or rent in Western Australia"

and enter "perth real estate" or "Properties for sale perth" and see who's up there on Google.com

You can do similar things. Talk to us to get this implemented

2. COMMENT ON real estate BLOGS and always leave your web site address, so it sets up a permanent link to your site (Google works by counting the LINKS IN to your site)

You have an opportunity below to comment on our real estate blog!

3. YOUR KEYWORDS appear in HEADINGS on your page, and in text as top/left of your page as possible

4. The same KEYWORDS appear in your property page text

5. Your web address is on ALL your publications, ads, flyers, brochures, office frontage, emails...

6. Put a BLOG on your site - great for building interest, community - but also fantastic for search engine ranking as Google READS TEXT and blogs are loaded with it. Talk to us to have a BLOG installed on your site

7. You load your listings DIRECTLY from your own web address to Google Real Estate - it's FREE and YOUR OWN web address then is linked from all your listings there. It's not good enough for your uploader (REIWA, aussiehome, whoever...) to load you up and have their web address appear - YOUR web address should appear. Talk to us - we can get this happening for you (as long as we host your web site).

(Why should you help bring traffic to the large portal sites?! Get traffic to YOUR SITE!)

What's going on in real estate market?

Blog Post - what's happening with the real estate market?

< aussiehome BLOG POST >

OK - granted I'm no real estate expert, but what's going on in the current real estate market ... in Perth? in Australia?

In 2006 we witnessed a generational run up in property prices (46% growth across Perth metro), and a tightening of the market with record low numbers of properties available for sale... and it kept rising in 2007/

In 2008, it all got rather nasty (I suppose it had to - the higher the rise, the harder the fall?). The property market  - certainly in the higher end of Perth - went dead...

In 2009, as the world started to realise that maybe the worst of the GFC was over so confidence returned. Which brings us to today, with interest rates rising for the 3rd consecutive month.

Are we heading for a great 2010? Or a slow period? What is happening out there? ...

HAVE YOUR SAY ON OUR BLOG (and also link your comment back to your own site, hence bringing you site traffic).
