OK, one commercial tip in this edition (more coming at you in my January edition). That dreaded job jar full of "nice to dos" "think I want to dos" and "somebody told me to dos" sits on your credenza, growing larger as time goes on, gathering dust. Consider that your jar likely contains some "need to dos", too. The dilemma? The need to dos can be critical to your business however they are suppressed by the heap of less crucial items. The entire steaming mass becomes so onerous, that its easier to forget all of them, rather than delve into the pile and deal with any of them.
Define, qualify and calibrate key issues and opportunities in your business so that the wheat can be separated from the chaff. PLUG WARNING. Get some objective, professional assistance while you're at it. Having done this, critical tasks are prioritized and can be meaningfully addressed, one at a time, in a manageable fashion. At the same time tasks of less or no importance can be culled from the heap, leaving you to focus on what is important.
