Healthy Active Workplaces

What's on the web?

BHF websiteNew BHF Health at Work Website

The new British Heart Foundation (BHF) 'Health at Work' website has been designed to support health promoters in the workplace.  It replaces the ThinkFit! website and has new features including an e-newsletter, success stories and news and updates.

The site contains up-to-date information on physical activity, healthy eating and mental wellbeing, plus lots of ideas, practical tools and downloads for you to create your own health club at work.

Joint Policy Statement on Healthy Active Workplaces

Policy statementA joint policy statement between the State Government, Chamber of Commerce and Industry and UnionsWA was launched as part of  'be active wa' on the 1 September.  This policy statement will provide a vision and framework to work towards achieving a healthier, more active workforce in Western Australia.

This policy statement will reinforce the State Government's commitment to Healthy Active Workplaces and to working together with peak industry bodies to help facilitate the uptake of workplace health and wellbeing programs.

To receive a copy of the policy statement email Tahlia Maslin.

Workplace Physical Activity and Health Resource Kit and Online Questionnaire

Resource KitThe Workplace Physical Activity and Health Resource Kit and Online Health and Wellbeing questionnaire are available now.

The resource kit may be used as a planning guide with information for setting up a simple, or more detailed program, including program design, implementation and evaluation.

To help you establish a baseline of the health and wellbeing of your workforce, the online survey allows the collection of your employees' health behaviours to create a non-identifiable overall picutre of the health and wellbeing of your workforce, and suggestions on how to make improvements.

The survey also provides individual feedback and advice to employees who complete the survey.

To order the resource kit or download the survey, visit the Healthy Active Workplaces section on the Department of Sport and Recreation website.
