June 2010

Hello All,

It's been a big couple of months at What Scratch? A few franchisees have broken personal records and last month the company record also fell. Well done Ed! What Scratch? staff have also been busy spending time with franchisees in the field assisting with any queries.

What Scratch? is currently undergoing its biggest R&D phase to date. Following franchisee feedback, Matt has made an extensive search for new products available here and overseas. Several new products have been trialed by Matt, Terry and a couple of franchisees. Matt has met with the product's importers in Sydney on two occasions for more information and demos. The result of the trial has been an impressive improvement so all the time and effort spent looks like it will pay dividends for years to come.

We look forward to finalising the trial and purchasing enough product for all franchisees to use. The new process will be detailed in the operations manual.

Until next time,

Dale & Matt

Customer Tally Continues to Grow
With the addition of new franchises in Cannington and Rockingham in recent months, a number of new customers have been added to the WA customer list.

Our visit to dealerships in Newcastle was very well received with a number of yards requesting regular service. The official customer tally now stands at 60.

The winner of the before and after shootout photo competition is Terry Missen. Terry will be awarded his prize at the quarterly breakfast on July 30.

Well done!

Bob Takes on Rockingham Territory

Bob Jongen may have spent 27 years on the road in his previous role but that is where the similarities end with his What Scratch? franchise. As a pharmaceutical saBob Jongenlesman Bob visited doctors and specialists throughout Perth and around the state.

Bob doesn't have to drive quite so much these days, in fact Bob lives within walking distance of many of his car dealerships. Bob is looking forward to growing what is currently our most southern metro franchise over the next few years.

First Husband & Wife Team Out in the Field

Rue & KerryCannington franchisees Rue & Kerry Bishop are the first 'franchise team'. Both Rue and Kerry are used to working in the great outdoors. Rue has spent most of his working life driving trucks before turning his hand to running his own business with a spray paving franchise before taking on a What Scratch? franchise. Kerry spent the last few years working part-time detailing caravans so she has had no trouble adapting to working on cars.

Rue and Kerry made an early start in the family stakes. With two daughters at uni and a son in high school, it may be a full and busy household now but Rue and Kerry are already looking forward to the many happy empty nester years that lay ahead.

Jono and Kate Shaw Tie the Knot

Jono & KateJono and Kate were married on April 3 at Sitella's Winery. The ceremony was followed by a reception at The Black Swan Winery in the Swan Valley.

With no time for a honeymoon, Jono was back on the buff within a few days!

Jono and Kate hope to enjoy a belated honeymoon later this year.

From everyone at What Scratch?, Congratulations Jono and Kate!
