Trails WA Implementation Plan

WA Trails Strategy Implementation Plan

As presented at the recent WA Trails Conference, a WA Trails Strategy has been developed to guide the development of, and support, tracks and trails in Western Australia.

While this strategy is important, the development and actioning of an implementation plan is essential.  A Trails Strategy Implementation Plan is currently being developed and your help is requested.

The Trails WA Reference Panel has reviewed the strategy and draft plan and proposed a number of key tasks.  Through this consultation, each task will be prioritised.

Please note that this is in the draft stage and details for each task are yet to be developed. The strategy and strategic initiatives have been endorsed by the Minister for Sport and Recreation.

To provide your feedback, click on the following link and follow the directions.  This will take less than ten minutes.  Click here.

Active Smart - Building Active Communities

Active Smart is a pilot project based in Rockingham, that aims to increase physical activity levels to build more active communities, increase personal health and well-being and connect people with their local clubs and facilities.

A strength of this project is the diverse partnerships.  WA Sports Federation has been working with the following organisations:

  • Department of Sport and Recreation
  • Local clubs, recreational facilities and program coordinators
  • Department for Planning and Infrastructure
  • Physical Activity Taskforce
  • Western Australian Tertiary Education Institutions
  • Social Data

This project is being evaluated independently and WA Sports Federation will communicate the results later this year.
