New boundaries

Western Australia's new electoral boundaries have just been released by the Electoral Distribution Commissioners.

Final boundaries

These boundaries will apply at the next State general election, which is due to be held in 2009. A booklet containing the new electoral boundaries was published in a special Government Gazette at 9.00 am on Monday, 29 October 2007. Copies of the booklet will also be inserted in The West Australian newspaper on Saturday, 3 November 2007.

In the meantime, the districts determined in the 2003 division of the State will apply to any by-elections held before the next State general election.

Maps

The maps produced in the New Electoral Boundaries booklet show the electoral boundaries at region level. More detailed maps showing the electoral boundaries at district level are currently being produced and will soon be available on the boundaries website. You will receive another newsletter to let you know when the maps are available.
