Institute web site updated

    The Institute's web site has been updated to reflect the corporate image that is progresively being applied to Institute publications, stationery and promotional material.
    Site content is being enhanced.  The process of loading an extensive range of resources and links has commenced.  The resources section which can be viewed after logging in to the Members' Only section will be established as a portal to an array of technical material relevant to the interests of Institute members.
    To view the site, click on the home page image to the right.  To log in to the Members' Only sections, use your username and password which are printed on your membership card.

Project Manager - Technical Services recruitment underway

    The Institute's Council decided towards the end of 2006 to make provision for the employment of a Project Manager - Technical Services through the Institute's national office.
    This newly created position will allow the Institute to contine to develop the range of benefits available to members and provide additional support to Branches.
    With a specific focus on technical activities, the Project Manager will work to co-ordinate the Institute's contributions to the development of Australian Standards, develop appropriate policy positions on technical and emerging technology issues, better co-ordinate the delivery of new and revised technical publications and enhance the Institute's ability to offer higher level educational programs to members and the industry in general.
   The position is fully funded from the Institute's normal financial operations and is not subject to subsidisation from any external source, thereby preserving the Institute's independance in developing its technical activities.

Reinforcement Detailing Handbook sales impressive

    The recently released Reinforcement Detailing Handbook has been well received by the industry and educational institutions.
    TAFE colleges in New South Wales and a number of Universities have started to distribute the publication either directly or through their campus book shops.
    Already more than 2000 copies have been sold or distributed and the first reprint has been completed.
    Members are able to purchase a copy of the Handbook at an introductory price of $48.00 including GST and deleivery.  Discounts are available for bulk orders.  To download an order form and further information, click on the image of the Handbook to the left.
    Meanwhile, a seminar series based on the Handbook's content is being developed and will be offered nationally in conjunction with the Institute's six State Branches.

Web site now includes career opportunities

    The Institute's new web site now includes a career opportunities section which members are encouraged to use to post and select job vacancies.
    Until the end of June 2007, company and Academic members will be able to post vacancies for free.  After the introductory period expires, Platinum and Gold company and Academic members will continue to be able to list vacancies for free.  Silver, Bronze Plus and Bronze company members will receive a reduced rate for placing advertisements.  Others who wish to list advertisements will be required to pay a fee in advance of the vacancies being posted.

On-line registration for Concrete 07 now open

    On-line registrations are now open for Concrete 07 Design, Materials and Construction - Concrete for the Future to be held in Adelaide from 18 to 20 October 2007.
    The exhibition has shaped up fantastically and already almost all of the 50 exhibition spaces have been booked.  Only limited exhibition and sponsorship opportunities remain.
    Papers are flooding in and the process of reviews and co-ordination of the program is well underway.
