Playgroup WA Online Survey
Please click here and complete a short survey to reveal your awareness of our organisation and our current services. Your feedback will greatly help us to plan for 2009 enabling us to better meet your (and  your playgroup's) needs. The online survey closes on Friday 10 October at 10am.  All members who complete the survey will go into a draw to win ONE OF THREE great prizes valued at $100 each (you can choose between a shopping voucher; a pamper voucher or a children’s book pack!). Only winners will be contacted.

Playgroup WA raffle
To all playgroups participating in this year's raffle, please remember to return your 2008 raffle information to us by Friday 10 October. All raffle books (used and unused) and supporting documentation MUST BE returned to our office via: PO Box 61 North Perth 6906 by this date for processing. Playgroups with outstanding raffle information/ documentation will be contacted over the coming weeks and reminded of their obligations. Please call our Hotline on 1800 171 882 if you need more information.

2008 Playgroup WA membership fee reduction
From Monday 13 October new families joining playgroup need only pay $13.50 for their Playgroup WA membership (half the annual fee). Next year's annual membership fee will be confirmed soon so watch this space for more details!

Early Brain and Emotional Development Workshop
Where: Hamersley Community Recreation Centre, Belvedere Road, Hamersley
Date: Monday 13 October
Time: 9.30am-12.30pm
Cost: Free
Details: These workshops aim to increase participants understanding of:

  • Basic brain structure & how the brain works
  • Experiences & interactions that lead to positive brain development
  • The role of parents/caregivers in promoting best possible brain development in children
  • Factors affecting emotional development
  • Attachment, and
  • Language development

Early Years Activities in the Mirrabooka area - come with your children and be part of a morning of free interactive fun activities including storytelling, book making, badge making, play dough, physical activities, parachute, and more. Enjoy the activities and morning tea and speak to local service providers

We're looking for someone to join our experienced team as the Team Leader of Programs. The main focus of this full-time position is leading a multi-skilled team whose responsibilities include training, supporting playgroups and establishing new playgroups and projects that support families and children aged 0 – 5 years. Smart Steps - helping your child become a safer road user now and in the future

You are invited to attend our Smart Steps Road Safety Workshop (see Diary Dates for date/time).

The workshop involves a range of informal and interactive activities designed to give you lots of take home ideas to use with your child.

It will also explain the important role you can play as an educator and role model of road safety behaviours to your child; road safety issues for your child in the areas of passenger, pedestrian and play safety, and ways you can model using the road safely to your child so that you feel confident to practise these road safety skills with your child.

The tips and strategies you will acquire in this workshop will help ensure that your child develops safe road safety practices that will impact right through adulthood. Should you have any queries please call our Hotline 1800 171 882 and ask for Tracy.
Giveaway: New allergy recipe book

Perth mum Tara Humphries has written and published a collection of 101 recipes eliminating egg, dairy, nuts or gluten.
