The date is Wednesday, February 24 from 11:00 am until 11:00 pm.
Applebees will donate 15% of anyone's bill to our Music Department just by presenting the official Applebee's flyer on this date. The flyer can be obtained in the Main Office. You may also get flyers from any of the music directors or music students within the next two weeks. Please help us in our effort to get new uniforms for the band.

| From the Athletic Program |
Spring Athletes: All potential Indoor Track & spring athletes must complete new paperwork. If you have tried out for or participated in another sport this school year you will not need to complete another Athletic Policy form. Everyone must complete a new emergency card unless you are currently in preseason conditioning. If you have any questions please be sure to ask when you pick up your forms in the Athletic Office. All completed paperwork must be returned to the Athletic Office prior to paying your participation fee of $150 which must be done in the Main Office. You must pay or make arrangements for payment before you can be cleared to tryout or participate in practice. In addition all previous athletic obligations must be paid for or returned before receiving clearance. Also a current physical is required and you must have passed the equivalent of 3 full block classes in a four block class schedule for 2nd term in order to be eligible for Indoor Track and Spring Sports.
Spring Athletes & Parents: On Wednesday, February 24th at 6:30 pm our Athletic Director, Mr. Tom Ross and our principal, Mr. Michael Bregy will be hosting a Spring Sports Information Night for all Indoor Track & spring student athletes and their parents. The purpose of the meeting is to educate both student athletes and their parents on the athletic policies and procedures for Jacobs High School, District 300 and the IHSA. The expectation is that all spring athletes attend. At the conclusion of the meeting most teams will hold a preseason meeting to share program and tryout information. There will be secretaries available beginning at 6 pm to process paperwork and fees. Start in Student Services with your completed paperwork. Once your paperwork is processed fees can then be paid in the Main Office.

| Congratulations W.Y.S.E. |
The Jacobs' W.Y.S.E. (Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering) team placed first at the regional competition at Elgin Community College on January 29. Each student competes against other schools by taking college-level tests in two of six categories. Awards are given to first, second, and third places for individual scores. Team scores are calculated from the normalized two highest scores in each category. The total team score is the sum of five normalized scores.
Six of the fourteen members received individual medals with at least one medal in each category: Biology, Chemistry, English, and Physics. Seven medals were given to the Jacobs team. They received the top team scores in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, competing with four other area high schools in the unlimited division (greater than 1500 students). This is the sixth time that Jacobs has received a first place finish in the last ten years of competition. 2010 makes the fourth consecutive first place win for the team, which speaks highly of the rigorous courses, dedicated faculty, and committed students at Jacobs High School.
The individual medalists and their awards include:
Jason Cha 1st place Chemistry 2nd place Biology Erik Hansen 1st place Physics
Amanda Podczerwinski 2nd place Chemistry
Chrissy Ruiz 3rd place English
